Alexander Shelley and the NAC Orchestra welcome virtuoso percussionist Evelyn Glennie to Southam Hall to perform the percussion concerto The Shaman, by Ottawa-born composer Vincent Ho. Profoundly deaf since the age of 11, Glennie is regarded as one of the finest solo percussionists in the world, having honed her awareness of sound to such a degree that she describes her body as “a resonating chamber.” Ho composed The Shaman especially for Glennie, and the work has been unanimously acclaimed for its originality and spectacular power.

With 10 platinum and gold studio albums, five concert DVD’s and live discs, five PBS specials, and numerous industry awards (both Canadian and International), Jesse now finds himself with a touring career that takes him regularly all over the US, to Europe, the Middle East, Japan and Asia. Very few other Canadian recording artists find themselves in so many International concert settings.

In Peppa Pig’s Adventure!, Peppa Pig gets ready to go on an exciting camping trip to the woods with George and her school friends, including Pedro Pony, Suzy Sheep and Gerald Giraffe. With lunchboxes packed and Daddy Pig driving the bus, Peppa and friends are excited about their outdoor adventure, full of games, laughter and live music. The happy campers soon settle down to sleep and listen to the gentle pitter-patter of rain. Safe and warm inside their tents, the excited group can look forward to morning time, when there will be lots of muddy puddles to jump and play in.
