Eve Film Festival: Opening Night Films and Feature

Eve Film Fest (EFF) is a feminist event that showcases and supports work by women (cis and trans) and genderqueer directors in film. We provide a forum for underrepresented filmmakers from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and stages in their career to present and calibrate their art.

Segment #1 – Opening night Films and Feature

A broken history that has torn Anishinaabe families from their sacred objects is healed through the repatriation of sacred objects, and the determination of the indigenous people to return to their traditional knowledge to carry it into the future.

THIRD SPACE | Jil Antener | 12:47 | Switzerland | 2019

Throughout three portraits, four young women give an insight into their hybrid worlds. All of them are influenced by different cultures. They express their thoughts and emotions through dance, poetry or fashion.

THE FIFTH REGION | Aeyliya Husain | 46:12 | Canada | 2018

Nancy and Joshua who are Inuit but raised in southern Canada. All their lives they struggled with aspects of their identities and now begin to redefine what it means to be a young urban Inuk growing up under the shadow of the Sixties Scoop and the residential school system.
