Another fall week is upon us, but this time with nice weather in store for the whole week! Thanksgiving weekend is coming up which typically means no major events for the weekend, but lots of small-scale fun things to do! You’ll have to just look through my events calendar!! I’ll point out a few highlights though as usual.
This week, there are so many options for sports!! The Ottawa Senators have two home games, the first against the Stanley cup defending champs, the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night, and then the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday late afternoon. The Ottawa Fury FC take on the Bethlehem Steel FC on Saturday afternoon at TD Place, and finally, the Ottawa 67’s are up against the Mississauga Steelheads Friday night, also at TD Place.
For live entertainment and concerts, I wanted to highlight that Michelle Obama is in town at the Canadian Tire Centre on Friday night, Robert Charlebois is playing at the NAC on Saturday, and Monkey Junk have a concert at Overflow Brewing on Saturday as well.
With Thanksgiving and fall in full force and Halloween sneaking up on us, there are plenty of family, (or not so family) fun activities to take advantage of. Pumpkinferno continues at Upper Canada Village, Saunders Farm is open for nightly hauntings for all levels, and the Canadian Agriculture and Food Museum is hosting their annual Thanksgiving Weekend at the Farm all weekend from 9-4 each day. May I also recommend taking this opportunity to attend 613flea if you’ve never been before. It’s such a great market with all kinds of unique finds!! Why not get a head start on your…ahem….Christmas shopping! This great event takes place at the Aberdeen Pavilion on Saturday.
Last week, I was honoured to spend half an hour with “Tic” on the CKCU 93.1 morning show. We talked about Covert Ottawa Guy and how I got started as well as all the different things that we do that you may not know about! You can listen to the entire interview (starts at the 90 minute mark) by clicking here!
