Good morning!! I hope everyone had a nice weekend and are now enjoying the rainy start to the week. We’re rolling through September, and with summer now officially over, we can start to move indoors a little more with some of the fall activities.
There are still a couple festivals kicking around. This week, the Ottawa Animation Festival kicks off on Wednesday and is on right through until Sunday. The full schedule can be found on their website. The “Best Little Fair in Canada” starts on Thursday and runs through Sunday. The Carp Fair has so many great activities for all ages so check out their schedule of activities and plan your visit.
Live this week, Jane Goodall is making two appearances at Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe. She has two shows, on Wednesday and Friday nights. Jane travels the globe, speaking about the threats facing chimpanzees and environmental crises, urging each of us to take action on behalf of all living creatures and the planet we share. Friday night, Harmony Concerts presents Jimmy Rankin at the Algonquin Commons Theatre. Also live this week, Raffi is at the National Arts Centre on Saturday afternoon. In theatre, you can catch “The Ugly One” starting this week at the Gladstone.
If sports are more your thing, the Redblacks have another home game this week on Saturday at 4pm against the visiting Edmonton Eskimos, and on Sunday, the Ottawa 67’s kick-off their season with their opener against the Peterborough Petes.
With fall officially here, the annual Ottawa Fall Home Show is on at the EY Centre from Thursday to Sunday so if you’re planning any type of renovation, you should definitely go see them and search out some inspiration. If you’re in a creative and shopping mood, check out the Etsy: Made in Canada show that takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Carleton University Fieldhouse. This is very well attended each time and offers so many incredible items. Finally, the long awaited Ottawa Chocolate Show is running on Saturday at the Allsaints Event Space in the Sandy Hill area. You’ll find some of the best chocolate in the world here!!
