Good Monday morning!! I hope everyone had a great weekend! We’ve got another fantastic week of events lined up again with something for everyone!
Last week was huge for concerts in Ottawa, so this week is a little toned down, but there are still two huge shows throughout the city. On Tuesday night, you can catch Mumford and Sons at the Canadian Tire Centre, and Thursday you’ll find Mother Mother playing at the Algonquin Commons Theatre.
There’s a fantastic food festival on all week called Presdelicious. It’s held at various restaurants through the Preston Street Neighbourhood. Have a look at the website, it’s such a great opportunity to get out and try some of Little Italy’s best offerings. Next up over the weekend with plenty of different shows and activities (depending on your point of view), you can catch the O-Town Showdown at the Glebe Community Centre. There are so many options, so have a look at the schedule on their website! Also this weekend, we have the pleasure of taking in yet another sign of spring like weather. The annual Ottawa Golf Expo is happening Friday and Saturday at the EY Centre with all kinds of activities for golfers of all skills and ages.
Theatre fans, I haven’t forgotten you!! The Gladstone is going into week #2 of Love and Human Remains. And starting this week at Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe, you can catch the first of two weeks of the latest Orpheus production, Sister Act!
Finally, on the sports side, the sad season/story continues for the Sens. With the firing of the head coach, there doesn’t appear to be anyone else to get rid of in the organization….well maybe one person!! #MelnykOut! I just want to say though, I’ve read a lot of people’s comments online, and I really don’t agree with the people who are trying to send a message to Melnyk by boycotting the team. There is still a full team of essentially kids out there playing their hearts out, trying to make a mark in the big leagues! Let’s support what’s left of the team and don’t punish the guys who are still here! So let’s all go out to the game on Wednesday night when the Sens take on the NY Islanders. If the NHL game isn’t in your plans, you can head to TD Place for the Ottawa 67s vs. the Oshawa Generals for a matinee matchup Saturday.
Where will I be?
I still have to take it easy….three weeks until I can start putting weight on my broken ankle. I’m going stir crazy at home. This week will be yet another quiet one for me but I will be out Friday night for sure to see Sister Act, so stay tuned for a review!!
