I hope you all had a great weekend and are all geared up for some warmer weather! I mean really….who isn’t done with winter this year? So let’s get on with the events!
First of all, worth mentioning, is what I’m NOT doing this year. I’m not providing a list of all the St. Patrick’s Day parties throughout the city. Just assume that if it’s a pub, they have a party. However, with that being said, on Saturday, there’s the biggest St. Patty’s Day party of the year happening at the Aberdeen Pavilion. This annual St. Patrick’s Day Party is put on by Beau’s and is just so much freakin’ fun, that you MUST check it out! I was there for the whole day last year and wrote a little review! Have a look at it here to know what to expect.
Amazing theatre continues again this week! The Gladstone Theatre continues its run of Love and Human Remains, and at Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe, “Sister Act” heads into its final week. Starting up this week, you can find Fahrenheit 451 by Sock ‘n’ Buskin Theatre taking place at Studio Leonard Beaulne at Ottawa University and The Hunchback of Notre Dame is at the Kailash Mital Theatre at Carleton University. Lastly, Rogers & Hammerstein’s “The King and I” is playing from Tuesday to Sunday at the National Arts Centre.
For sports fans, the Sens have two home games this week. The first is Thursday night while they host the St. Louis Blues, and then Saturday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs! (ick) OR….if you’re looking to see the home team continue to win, you can catch the first place, and playoff bound Ottawa 67’s when they take on the Peterborough Petes on Friday night, or the Kingston Frontenacs Sunday afternoon.
A really fun event that’s running from Wednesday – Saturday is the Potted Potter show at the Algonquin Commons Theatre. This show looks really funny!! Check out the write up on my site or on the ACT event page.
Where will I be?
I’m not actually sure where I’ll be this week just yet. Things are kind of up in the air, and I’m still not allowed to put weight on my broken ankle for another two weeks, and then the fun of physio!
So….you may have noticed that the Bluesfest line up was announced last week. If you didn’t notice, you either don’t care, or you were shut out of society for some reason. Once again, it’s a fantastic line-up! You can have a look at my announcement by clicking here!
On Friday night, I attended “Sister Act” by Orpheus. It was definitely one of my favourite Orpheus shows so if you’re considering going, you should have a read of my review…it’s definitely worth seeing! Click here for the review!
