Christmas holidays are over and it’s back to reality for most of us. The roads were much busier this morning, with all the daily commuters and office drones making their way back to their cubicles. I am one of those drones, so don’t take it personally. Haha This weekly newsletter is late, I’m sorry, but I looked at the events going on this week, and I am sad to say that it’s a relatively quiet week. I figured that I can be late occasionally, and this would be a good week to show off my tardiness. Also, I’m just making excuses. I was at the monthly sports card and comic show Sunday, then my season opener for indoor softball, then I had dinner plans…..blah blah….I got lazy Sunday night.
The theatre companies appear to mostly still be on Christmas vacation while getting ready for an amazing spring line up (stay tuned). The exception being Ottawa Little Theatre, who have kicked off a three-week run of Ripcord starting Wednesday night.
It’s a dismal week in Ottawa for sports, but after eight straight losses for the Sens, maybe it’s good that they’re not playing at home this week. The 67’s who are having a great season, also are on the road all week.
Where will I be?
Tonight (Monday), I found myself attending the Jason Benoit concert at Algonquin Commons Theatre. It was a very small crowd, almost embarrassingly small really. I would say no more than 50 people showed up to this free concert for Algonquin Students. Although not a country music fan whatsoever, it was a pretty good show. Tuesday night, I’m attending a business development meeting to learn about facebook marketing….yay!! LOL Wednesday night, you can find me at my favourite networking event held every 3-4 months at the Horticulture Building. eSAX, the Entrepreneur Social Advantage Experience is such a great event for anyone up for some valuable networking and business mingling! With a trade show, guest speakers, musical entertainment, and the famous “sax on the beach” signature drink, there’s always something for everyone!
