Weekly Newsletter: Ottawa Events November 26th – December 2nd

It’s now official with December starting, the Christmas season is on us, and winter arrives! Although both of these things seemed to be early this year, I’m making it official now. ? December hits this weekend, but we’ve got just as many activities going on as usual, just more and more indoors. However, since December is here, I’ll now start focusing on some Christmas/Holiday events too!

Theatre: At The Gladstone this week, you can find week #2 of The Penultimate Problem of Sherlock Holmes which started on November 23rd and is running until December 1st. Ottawa Little Theatre is running “It’s a Wonderful Life” starting Wednesday, November 28th right up until December 15th. Les Petits Ballets’ Peter Pan has two shows on December 1st at Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe.

Sports: The Ottawa Senators  have two home games this week; On Thursday night, they take on the visiting New York Rangers, and Saturday is a special game welcoming back former team Captain, Erik Karlsson, with his first visit to the CTC since his trade to the San Jose Sharks. The 67’s have a home game this weekend on Sunday vs the North Bay Battalion.

Seasonal Activities: Christmas is only 4 weeks away and there’s lots going on to celebrate it!! The place to be this weekend is TD Place for all your Christmas fun!! On Friday, there’s a Tree Lighting and Christmas Market running, Saturday has 613 Christmas (Flea) just down the street at the Carleton University Fieldhouse, the Santa Shuffle is also on Saturday at TD Place, as is the Cirque Musica Holiday presentation of Holiday Wonderland. ALL at TD Place!!  Not your area of the city?? Well, Westboro Village is hosting Light Up the Village on Saturday, there’s a holiday concert featuring Dala and supporting HOPE called “Holidays for Hope” on Saturday at the Algonquin Commons Theatre, and on Sunday, there’s a Giant Chanukah Celebration at City Hall!

Where will I be??

Well, last week, I decided to hibernate from the cold and didn’t attend as many events as usual. This week, I’ll get back out and enjoy some time in the city. Although mostly up in the air, I will be attending Nature Nocturne on Friday (expect a review) and the Geeked Out Market on Sunday. I was at their event last year, and it was amazing. For any geeks in your life, this is the place to get your shopping done!!! It’s held this year at the Nepean Sportsplex. Also, I hope to get out and enjoy the markets and activities at TD Place on Saturday, and I’m seriously considering the Local Talks event on Tuesday as the entrepreneur in me would take advantage of this information! Plus you can’t beat the Shopify venue!!
