October is starting off as a great sign of things to come! What a fun first week, I’m so excited for all the great events this month! To start off the week, I want to mention a few concerts that are running this week. Tuesday night has John Mellencamp at TD Place. You can find Diana Ross at the NAC for a Gala event on Wednesday, Swollen Members are at Babylon on Friday and finally, The Commotions are at the NAC on Thursday.
Also with the start of October, we can finally see some hockey….regular season hockey!! The Senators kick off their season vs. the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night. I for one, am really excited for the season to start, there’s a lot of things to look forward to and to see how the cards fall after a tumultuous off-season. Despite the lack of additions to the Sens over the summer, I think we’ll see a bounce back season. I also will enjoy the Habs continuing their decent to the bottom of the league, the rise of the Leafs (maybe??) and how other teams will slot into the standings. I’d be happy to debate with anyone if yoau’re interested. Keeping on topic though, we also have two 67’s games this weekend at TD Place and a Redblacks game Friday vs. the Bluebombers.
I’m excited for Wednesday night, when I get to go see the latest play at The Gladstone. They are running “Fierce” for two weeks and wow does it ever look powerful!! I’m not expecting a happy, jolly play on this one so I’m really excited to see how it goes as it’ll be a sure test for the actors/actresses! Stay tuned on Thursday for the review.
“Récolte” continues until the end of October at Terrace on the Canal. This series of dinners allows you to eat a gourmet meal in a dome located beside the Rideau Canal. It looks amazing!! Tickets have sold really fast with only a few remaining, so make sure to grab them quickly!! Click here for full details.
My top three events of the week:
- BeerSavy Bootcamp (Wednesday, Dominion City Brewing Company)
- Feast of Fields (Wednesday, Ottawa City Hall)
- Rattle Me Bones Zombie Run (Saturday, Proulx Maple and Berry Farm)
