Weekly Newsletter: Ottawa Events October 15th – 21th

Another huge fall week in Ottawa is in store for us! So much going on for all interests. I’ll set it up by theme once again:

Sports: The Ottawa Senators have two home games this week, Monday night against the visiting Dallas Stars, and Saturday they’ll be taking on the Montreal Canadiens. The Ottawa Redblacks have a game on Friday versus the Hamilton Tiger-cats.

Live Entertainment: The NAC is hosting two featured plays this week running from Tuesday through Sunday with Notre Dame de Paris and starting Wednesday, you’ll find Silence running as well until Sunday. Although no huge concerts in Ottawa this week, you’ll find some less likely stars hitting the stage. On Wednesday, at Algonquin Commons Theatre, Tony Danza is visiting for a show, and on Saturday both Steve Martin and Martin Short will be performing at TD Place. At the Gladstone this week, is the start of a two week run of “This Flight Tonight: Songs of Joni Mitchell.”

Entrepreneurs: There are two exciting entrepreneurial events happening in Ottawa this week. First, on Wednesday, eSAX, the Entrepreneur Social Advantage Exchange is happening with an amazing and inspiring line up of panel members including Steve Cody, and Bruce Linton launching their new Ruckify business. You’ll also find Jim Watson and Brett Wilson from Dragon’s Den in attendance! Secondly, the monthly Entrepreneurs in Action event is running at Collab Space on Thursday night!

Trade Shows: There are three noteworthy trade shows all this weekend. The EY Centre plays host to both the Ottawa Fall 2018 National Women’s Show, as well as the Ottawa Ski Show, both Saturday and Sunday. You can also find the Military Heritage Show on Saturday at the Nepean Sportsplex.

Halloween is getting closer!!! Saunders Farm has started its Frightfest on Friday and Saturday nights! Also, in the spirit of Halloween, my friends at Brew Donkey have added a new tour called the “All About the Boo’z” Tour. You should definitely check this one out!!

“Récolte” continues until the end of October at Terrace on the Canal. This series of dinners allows you to eat a gourmet meal in a dome located beside the Rideau Canal. It looks amazing!! Tickets have sold really fast with only a few remaining, so make sure to grab them quickly!! Click here for full details.

My top three events of the week:

I’m so excited that I got to attend Mac My Cheese Fest on Saturday. It was such an amazing experience. I was able to eat 16 different mac and cheese recipes by the eight different vendors on site. It was so good! Check my Instagram for the pics!
