CityFolk organizers set for MARVEST encore in ‘the Glebe’

August 29, 2017, Ottawa, ON— CityFolk music festival organizers today announced an expanded line-up for this year’s edition of MARVEST—a harvest of music and so much more! Throughout the event, an eclectic mix of regional acts will play a series of free music concerts in bars, restaurants and storefronts in the Glebe, allowing the CityFolk ‘party’ to carry on into the night.

Once again, members of the programming team have outdone themselves by bringing in more than 50 outstanding acts from the national capital region, including: Area Resident; Aviation; Beyond Spain; Bruce Enloe; Bryan Snider; Étoile Noire; Expanda Fuzz; Fire Antlers; Gentlemen of the Woods; Grace Marr; Graven; Jad; Jaycee Lauren; Jessica Wedden; JK3; John Fuoco Band; Kimberly Sunstrum; Liam Lloyd; Maeve Lalonde; Mia Kelly; Mister & His Sister; Morris Ogbowu; Okies; Potential Red; RBLx; Rory Taillon & the Old Souls; RUM FIT MOSEY; Sarah Scriver; Scary Bear Soundtrack; Shadowhand; Silver Creek; Slim Moore and the New Soul Project; Sons of Pluto; Sounds of Stories; Steph La Rochelle; Swim Team; Tariq Anwar; Templeton Grey; The Artichoke Hearts; The Chocolate Hot Pockets; The Heavy Medicine Band; The Jimmy Tri-Tone Band; The Leaning Lights; The Occasional Angels; The Pie Plates; theroyalbrushoff; Thrust; Training Season; Vicki Brittle; and Weird With Cats, among others . . .

Marvest celebrates the bounty of talent that has taken root and flourished in the Ottawa area, while offering an eclectic lineup of musical entertainment in a wide array of venues. Inspired by the city-wide explosion of music during Austin’s SXSW Festival, the sights and sounds of Marvest will spill out of nineteen unique venues in Ottawa’s Bank Street area.

The event forges connections between local artists, businesses, community associations, and music fans from Ottawa and beyond. Marvest will work in partnership with the Glebe BIA and the numerous local businesses who have offered to open their doors to some first-rate music.

“This is a great opportunity for the CityFolk organization to promote local talent by working in cooperation with local businesses,” says CityFolk executive director Mark Monahan. “It gives the musicians a boost by helping them develop their audiences . . . and it helps businesses broaden their customer base.”

Marvest will take place Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 16. Check out the CityFolk website < > to find out who’s playing where.
