ANNOUNCEMENT: Canada Day on the Hill…WOW!!

I’m a little late on this post, but it’s so amazing, I have to put it out even late. Life gets in the way from a one man show sometimes I guess.

This year’s Canada 150 celebrations as expected is centered around Canada Day on July 1st. As many of you know, each year the main fireworks display is at Parliament Hill and this year is no different. Except that it is….the acts and celebrities at this year’s 150th celebration is outstanding and matched by no other year. There’s something for everyone at the Hill even just the spectators are expected to draw a crowd from the “Royal watchers” as Prince Charles and Camilla once again honour our city by attending this birthday bash.

Here is the list of artists slotted to perform that long weekend:

Parliament Hill: Alessia Cara, Walk Off The Earth, Cirque du soleil, Louis-Jean Cormier, Marie-Mai, Dean Brody, Serena Ryder, Kelly Bado, Kinnie Starr, Lisa LeBlanc, Gordon Lightfoot, Mike Tompkins, Patrick Watson and Laurence Nerbonne and Buffy Sainte-Marie.

Major’s Hill Park: Raine Maida (From Our Lady Peace), Chantal Kreviazuk, Mother Mother, Laurence Nerbonne and David R. Maracle.

The excitement doesn’t stop after July 1st either with festivities going on the following day celebrating “WE Day”. This is one of the largest youth celebrations and this year, includes such celebrities as four-time Olympic medalist Penny Oleksiak, who will be joined by The Barenaked Ladies, Hedley, Alanis Morissette, Kardinal Offishall, astronaut Chris Hadfield, former first lady Margaret Trudeau, humanitarian Roméo Dallaire, YouTube comedian Lilly Singh and more.

These two days are not to miss but plan for the day and make sure you bring everything you’ll need for all weather. This is a birthday party not to be missed!!
